I am a writer--a writer by default. Something realized me with force from within
that my skill of writing is genetic. Although I have no history of writers
within my family but despite the fact, it seems to me that I have this quality
of writing within my blood and soul. The tale of becoming a writer is an
interesting one. I have gone through many stages before reaching the stage of an

During my early schools days, I was extremely imaginative, creative and
artistic. Along with these qualities I was also inclined to write down all my
abstract thoughts that frequently ran through my mind. My observations of the
things I always found different from the rest of my age fellows’ lot. Always
different meaning of the things occurred to me at different occasions. I thought
and felt it like revelation. Finally I decided to give it a try and started
writing.
Initially I was confronted with the problem of expression, construction and
language. I also felt that unnecessary length of the writing stuff is also a
problem. I lacked the skill to sum up things in a brief and refined manner. One
of my teachers suggested me that I must go for a reading spell and should read
the books by various authors. The suggestion proved to be most valid. When I
started reading at random, I came across with different dictions, styles and
subjects. Backgrounds of different writers were visible in their works. This
exercise refined my language and made me develop a very unique writing style. I
chose first person narrative form, which seems more powerful in description and
in communicating the delicate feelings. It also gave me the techniques of how to
sum up when required. The usage of metaphor and analogies also added beauty to
my write-ups. The idiom, proverbs, adjectives and the controlled usage of
superlatives reflected the sobriety of my writings. The vast reading also opened
up the canvass of my mind and shaped a totally different approach of mind. It
enabled me to see the world with numerous eyes and I discovered a new and novel
meaning of life.
In the end I would like to conclude from the entire narration that for a good
writer, it is a must to be stylish, precise, and innovative and should deliver
something new and original to his audience. Although, I believe that creativity
is divine but the development of style is possible through extensive reading and
experimental writings. Reading also gives pleasure that cannot be compared to
another bout of happiness. Psychologically speaking I enjoy the literature for
the reason that I identify myself with the character I like most.
