Term Paper on Individual Rights
of the Fetus
About 1.6 million murders are committed lawfully each year. With the exemption
of laws in few states, the damaged bodies of the victims are thrown into
dumpsters like pieces of rotten meat. Whilst these victims lay waiting in the
infested dumpsters to be dragged off to a landfill, the killers are in their
offices waiting for their next patient the assistants to the murder. This is the
murder of an innocent child by a process known as abortion. I believe that
abortion is unjust and immoral, first and leading, because it unfairly takes the
life of a human being. Members of my generation are being killed each day.
Abortion is defined as the extinction of a pregnancy after, escorted by,
resulting in, or closely followed by the death of fetus. According to this
explanation, a fetus dies during the abortion procedure. A fetus is defined as
this: a developing human from usu. three months after beginning to birth.

The idea that a fetus is only a splotch of tissue until it is born, or the
declaration: life begins at birth. Abortion is not as easy as removing a splotch
of tissue from a woman's body (Alvare, Helen, Wilson, Marle, Wolf, Naomi, 1997).
Abortion is the damage, tearing apart and killing of a human life an unborn
baby. A fetus is not just a splotch of tissue; to a certain extent a fetus is
Latin for offspring or young one. Human life begins at fertilization, as a
result it is wrong to murder the blameless child in the womb. By all decisive
factors of modern biology, life is present from the instant of conception (Lavelle,
Marianne, 1998). In a 1963 Planned Parenthood leaflet entitled 'Plan Your
Children' it states "an abortion destroys the life of a baby after it has begun.
It is unsafe to your life and health" (McMillan, Jeff. 1996: pA12)
Not only has science confirmed that a fetus is in fact a human, the plain facts
also confer abortion kills the life of a human being. Life begins at beginning
because of the reality that life in the womb does not change at birth. There are
no particular procedures or changes that happen during birth to magically change
the fetus to a baby. It is already a baby a human life.
Babies in the womb hitch, cry, play, and learn". Life carries on from the day of
fertilization until death. Nothing is added to a person all through a lifetime.
Abortion is wrong for the reason that it ends the life of a human being. The day
of beginning marks the beginning of a new human life.
Many quarrel that most of the babies that are aborted are superfluous babies.
They believe that they would be badly treated and neglected. This is why
abortion is all right to them. They think abortion is saving the child from
mistreatment. Abortion, on the other hand, is the most severe case of child
abuse. Not only does abortion take the existence of a child, but also the means
in which it is done is tremendously cruel. Why should a child, who has done no
damage or cause no problem by his or her own will, be lawfully subject to such
an excruciating death just for the reason that his or her mother has the choice
to do so? How excruciating can a death by abortion be? Imagine being split apart
and sucked all the way through a tube by a force 29 times stronger than a usual
vacuum cleaner into a bottle. This is the most ordinary abortion process called
Suction-Aspiration (Wallace, 1996: pp 20-21). After the child is sucked into the
bottle, a nurse, to make sure that all of his parents were suctioned out of the
womb, puts him as one like a puzzle.
The baby can feel all the pain put on it by the hurting procedures. The
particularly sound shows the baby struggling to stay alive. Abortionist doctors
confess that seeing the abortion “...of the baby on the ultra sound concerned
more than anything else. Women were never permitted to see the ultra
sound"(Alvare, Helen, Wilson, Marle, Wolf, Naomi, 1997). Women should be
permitted to see this. They ought to see the struggling of the life they are
killing.
Unluckily, abortions unkindness does not stop at the death of the child.
Abortions’ cruelty continues to the life of the mother. Post-Abortion Syndrome
is a very ordinary occurrence to those females who have had abortions. Fault is
ever present in many guises, along with regret, sorrow, shame, lowered
self-worth, insomnia, dreams and nightmares, flash backs, anniversary responses.
There is often antagonism, and even hatred, toward men. This can comprise the
woman's husband, and she may develop into sexually dysfunctional. Crying,
anguish and depression are normal, sometimes along with suicide attempts (Merril,
Ted, 1996). Recourse to alcohol or drugs to mask the pain is recurrent,
sometimes leading to sexual promiscuity. There is also a deadening and coldness
in place of more normal warmth and motherly tenderness due to thoughts and
regrets of abortions.
After having an abortion, lots of women can tell a person the reality, abortion
is murder. Recent proof indicates many women harbor strong guiltiness long after
their abortions. Guilt is one vital reason of child battering and infanticide.
Abortion should no longer be lawful.
