Graphics arts is a subject in which there are thousands of artists who have
proven themselves in many ways but some are extremely remarkable and in those
one name stands whom I also admire is Deke McClelland. Fifteen years ago, he
supervised the implementation of first personal computer-based production in
Colorado. Later he served as artistic director for one of the earliest
all-digital service bureaus in United States. There he wrote his first book
named as desktop Publishing Type & Graphics to educate his clients.
Now a day Deke is the author of more than 50 books published in 25 different
languages having copies of about 3 million. Also, it includes the award-winning
book Photoshop Bible series. In 1989, Deke won Benjamin Franklin award for best
Graphics book. After that, he received honors from the society for Technical
Communication in 1994 and 1999, the American Society of Business Press Editors
in 1995, the Western Publishing Association in 1999, and the Computer Press
Association in 1990, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1997, and two times in 1999 and also in
the same year Book Bytes name him the Author of the Year.
His other achievements include Photoshop for Dummies, Photoshop Studio Secrets
and Web Design Studio secrets and Real World Illustrator and Real World digital
Photography. Now, he works as a long time contributing editor for MacWorld
magazine. His achievements have made him a long lasting name in the world of
Graphics.
